While considering how to best spend the next 100 days of my campaign, I realize as a person who has never run for elected office, I must get out and introduce myself to those I hope to represent. I have been doing this all this summer, and I will continue to do so until November 8. This is my first summer “off” (ever), and I am using my time to actively meet and converse with those in my district. What I wonder, is what the republicans are doing with their summers. I have not seen much from any of them outside their convention since the primary in May. Are they really so smug that they feel like no campaigning is necessary? What are they doing to meet the people outside their social and fund-raising circles? Are they making the most of summer evenings and weekends by getting out and talking to voters to hear from them what their main concerns are? I don’t think they are. To those who won’t vote for a democrat, I ask that you also don’t vote for a republican who does not make a real effort to win in November.
